What if I don't have an E-book or consummable product?  Reply with quote

Hi!

I really want to get into the internet market but so much of what I have read seems to point to selling e-books or consummable products (herbal remedies, diet supplements, etc)

What happens if I want to sell craft kits? Can I still use the same techniques? How on earth would I create an irresistable offer for a craft kit? It seems that people are always offering that little extra bonus when you purchase their book or pills. I have no idea what I could offer; maybe a free pattern???

Anyway, I would be interested in hearing what sort of merchandise or products you people are marketing and having success with.

Thanks for listening . . .

Selling on the internet  Reply with quote

Hi,

The reason why they are pushing ebooks is because that is selling information, therefore no stock, no inventory, no shipping. It can be sold 24/7 with no effort from you. I personally haven't done this, however the marketing is just as hard whichever way you go.

Craft can work as well as any other product. To know what to give away you probably want to surf some craft sites and get on a few forums. These are what you will need to watch if you start a craft site anyway. If you are into craft then sell craft supplies. If you don't like craft then find something else.

As you will be using mail or couriers, consider the size and weight. This impacts the shipping costs and therefore your advantages over shopfront retailers.

Do you have an internet shopfront? there are some basic free ones. Sites like eBay also have them. I have a few spare ones - take this as a warning, it is not as easy as you might have been led to believe.

Hope this is helpful.

Craft Kits?  Reply with quote

Hi,
Where do you get your craft kits from? (No I don't expect you to tell me...)
The point is - will your supplier do a Dropshipping deal with you?
If so, then all you do is concentrate on advertising and selling. They process the orders and ship for you. Now thats a good biz proposition...

Best of luck, Nick.

Proceed with caution  Reply with quote

Work from home and especially data entry are two of the biggest areas for scams online. The scam artists know that people are looking for home-based jobs, and will use any hype/promise possible to help those people part with some of their money.

One option would be to check eLance, where you pay them a fee for every contract job you get. Most contracts are for one shot jobs, such as typing term papers, etc.

You'll be much more likely to find something do-able, if you start with the premise that you will have to find customers to provide a product or service. If you are real fortunate, you'll find something to do that will allow you to get repeat business from those customers over and over.

Finding new clients every month can take you through continual boom and bust cycles, where repeat business can even out the peaks and valleys and help you maintain a livable income.

Best wishes on finding the right opportunity for your situation and abilities.

Craft kits? If there is one thing I have discovered while doing my own searches for affiliate programs it's that if you know how to put your own spin on it, anythinig will have a market. The problem is finding that niche to fit into that is profitable.

Aside from the cost of shipping the kits, and I think if you could do the dropship option as someone else mentioned that would work the best, you have to consider who your target audience would be and how you are going to market your product to them.

What type of craft kits would you like to sell? Is it something that you could target towards children (actually, target the parents of said children), or are you looking at the average hobbyist that enjoys the crafty side of life?

Just some things to consider in your journeys. Good luck!

I would think craft kits and supplies would be a great thing to market on the net... in fact anything is a great thing to market on the net. The main thing would be to learn to make a great sales page. One of the people that I have found teaches that is Joe Vitale. He rocks when it comes to marketing on the net. Do a search for Hypnotic Writing and I am sure you will find it.

I also recommend Joe Vitale's book, The Attractor Factor. It is great! I find the hardest part of online marketing is the mental aspect and this book deals with that. How to think in your success.

As Mike Dooley says, "Thoughts become things."

Good luck with your craft selling. I know you can do it!
