I'll give my vote for other - online postings on forums and message boards. I check my traffic and have received some'hits' from posts that are 2 to 4 years old, but are still hanging around in archives and the internet vaults.
Depending on the topic, the traffic on any given forum, along with other variables, you can get a lot of free exposure by posting either new topics or replies to the posts of others. While some will allow for having a link in your signature block, others provide either a link field, or a profile to have your link but keep it subtle.
So, forum posting works for me.
