I have to do an article, on a subject that I know very little about... Whats is mlm....
why is it often thought to be a scam, when it seems though there are people making really good money? how long have you worked in mlm? If you have some time it would be great... i want to know about the good and the bad...
Thank you _________________ Patricia M. |

Some people joke that MLM means Most Lose Money.
I think that is a decent analysis. The problem with MLM is that it taps into the multiplying factor that is also used by simple pyramid schemes. The problem with that is that the math doesn't hold up in reality.
Whenever you are getting the sense that finding more people to market the "Product" is more important than selling the "Product", be wary, or better yet, run away.
I'm of the school of thought that starting a real business should be the way to go. Then you can be sure that what you are providing has real value. Build that business over time and grow it into something big that will be all yours. |

Patricia,
Check the home page on this site. I posted an article June 29th titled, "MLM or Network Marketing isn't for everyone!"
Feel free to quote from my post if you want.

I do not think just because someone makes good money that they should be called scammers. _________________ Start making good money in 15 minutes.

The reason a lot of people don't make money with MLM and Network Marketing is because they don't put the effort needed to run the business. It makes sense though, because most programs make it sound like a piece of cake to make the money, but when you actually start the program they can be discouraging and you can lose hope fast. _________________ Earn Automated Millions! @ http://therm10.automill.hop.clickbank.net |

I agree. And when they are not making money as easily as piece of cake, they thought it's purly a scam. And may run away from something that work for others who persist. _________________ This Affiliate Program is SCREAMING with Momentum!!! http://jxu1.SuccessUniversity.com/New |

Be very careful which MLM program you get involved with. Most over promise and under deviver. Whatever you do, don't spend alot of money up front; instead, take it slowly, make realistic goals and you might make some money. _________________ Need some money?

Yes, but over the long haul, it's a proven fact that 90% of people who join MLMs never make the first penny of profit. Some MLM companies and recruiters depend on those "body bags" as they are sometimes called, to keep the products flowing and recruiting bonuses coming in.
To me that is just wrong, when people sign people up and take their money, know 9 out of 10 will lose money. Some people have no business going into business for themselves.

I agree with some of the post's here, and disagree with others, personally I have always looked at the facts and figures before making a decision.
The facts are that Networking works,we all do it every day, this is and has been a multi million dollar industry for many many years so someone is doing something wright, the problems associated with failure are many and varied, but fundamentally its the very essence of what makes Networking work that is it's downfall................namely people.
We tend to listen to the opinion of others instead of seeking out the answers from people who should know, after all you wouldn't ask a plumber to take a look at your broken down car (though with some people I'm not so sure).
This is what happens,we join one of the 99% of Business opportunities that are gone in the first year (the reasons for this would take forever to talk about) we pay our money,or mabye it's free to join, then we expect to be making millions before bedtime, along comes a friend who pours scorn on your day old Business and you believe him or her,so you become a junkie by jumping from one opp to the next looking for the holy grail of opportunities when all you end up with is a fully paid up membership to the fickle club.
So it goes on,you join, advertise (without reply) you exhaust your warm market, you sit in front of your computer screen advertising in every free place you can find, joining another scheme, getting hammered by your friend's etc......STOP!
You need to realise that the defination of insanity is keep doing what you have always done and expect different results, making money and being successful either on or off the Net requires several ingredients which will keep you sane.
Did you jump straight into a car at the driving test center and pass your test?...don't think so,you sought the help, guidance, and knowledge of people who know more than you do because you had a desire to be a driver,if you have the desire to be successful and make money the same rules apply, you need to listen and talk to people who are successful, find out what kind of Business you want to be involved with, does it fit with your lifestyle and budget?,is the Company stable,?do they have a track record of success,? do they provide an online office with real live human beings that can answer any questions you may have? or or they like the 99% I mentioned earlier in that once they have your money they are gone.
No doubt the Internet has it's benefits, however the crooks can have a field day.
Tread carefully, and if you want to get in touch please feel to do so,in the meantime I wish you everything you wish yourself.
Regards,
Aubrey Wilson

My source is based on MLMs history over the past 40 years, with the focus being on US based companies and distributors.
The FTC puts out the numbers, so I have no reason for questioning the source as they probably use a larger sample size than anyone else crunching the MLM numbers.
I have heard it is closer to 95% who quit before ever making a penny of profit. Much more believable to just leave it at the 90%.
