The purpose of the Business Offer category is to allow every registered user the opportunity to market their products or service.

That said, it doesn't do any good to post the same entry every day or week. Those who are attempting to keep their ad at the top, do so only by pushing everyone else's post further down.

Replying to your own post with no real additional info just to move your original post to the top isn't benefiitting anyone except the poster.

When free for all ad posts are allowed with no rules or restrictions, the forum eventually degrades into a place where people are only posting, and no one is reading or responding to the offers.

There are probably millions of FFA posting sites, and even Google ignores those.

I have been busy ever since Hurricane Rita came through our city, and I only have limited time to spend visiting and working on the three forums where I am a volunteer moderator.

There are presently 5 pages of Business Offers. If yours is on the "top" page, I'll review and probably delete any duplicate posts or self-replies made just to move yours to the top.

I've thought about this for some time, while silently deleting those repetitive ads, but felt it was time to respond.

I haven't even added my bizopp or product offers to the current page, as I wasn't seeing any replies or contacts generated by my previous posts.

If people perceive this as a free for all ad forum, no one will come back, except to post the ad back on top. No one wins, and everyone loses.

I was a long time poster on an excellent business forum, that offered lots of good advice. The forum is now defunct, due to unrestricted ad blasts that overwhelmed the moderator. The site is still up, and you can see for youselves what happens when the posters turn on their automated ad blasting software.

http://msgboard.iverify.com/ has finally disappeared. This is what happens when no one is moderating and there are no restrictions.

This isn't my site, and I don't get paid for moderating. I hope that this forum doesn't go the way of the "iverify.com" message board and countless others that turned into "posting only ad blasting" sites.
